[buy product=”novelisha”]
novel writing software you buy once and own.
plan, write, and export a whole book — or a screenplay — in one offline app. set up your chapters and scenes, draft with live word counts, then export print-ready files for publishing. the desktop app runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and is sold direct from this site; the price and whether the checkout is open are at the top of this page. a phone version for iPhone and Android is a separate product and is not in the stores yet. paid once either way, with no account and no subscription.

what it does
book setup wizard
start with targets, chapters, and scenes already laid out. add a prologue, epilogue, and front and back matter — including your own copyright page, which is the one that goes into the export rather than a generic one you have to fix afterwards. the shape of the book is there before you write a word.
scene-by-scene editor
an editor that works one scene at a time, with live word counts, rich formatting, automatic drop caps, and a one-key distraction-free fullscreen mode. you write into a scene, not at a blank document.
word-count tracking
track word counts per scene, per chapter, and across the whole book, with progress bars against the targets you set.
the Novel Guide
a built-in, scene-by-scene writing companion — craft notes on voice, dialogue, pacing, tension, and revision that follow the scene you’re in (Ctrl+G). structure and coaching in the same window.
screenplay mode
write scripts in standard screenplay format and export to Fountain, .fdx, and a Courier PDF with correct margins — film, TV, or stage, in the same app as your novels.
drag-and-drop book tree
reorder scenes within a chapter, and reorder whole chapters, straight from the book tree — drag them on a computer, or move them with the up and down controls on a phone. no copy-paste.
publish-ready export
export to print-ready PDF in 6×9 and 5.5×8.5 (correct margins, gutter, and right-hand chapter starts), plus a reflowable EPUB built to the EPUB 3 specification EPUBCheck tests against, DOCX, and a submission-ready industry manuscript format.
export validation
checks your files before they go out, with eBook and print toggles so the output matches where you’re publishing.
DOCX import
already have a draft going? import a .docx and pick up where you left off inside Novelisha’s structure.
write on your phone
a Novelisha phone app is a separate product with its own price, and it is not in the App Store or Google Play yet. it drafts on a phone, and it stitches your per-scene voice notes into one long audio draft, so you can hear the book in your own voice.
themes, fonts, snapshots
8 themes and 30 built-in publish-safe fonts (or import your own), embedded right in your PDF and EPUB exports, atomic saves with automatic daily snapshots, a Recently Deleted list that puts a book, a chapter or a scene back where it was, and portable .novelisha files you can move between computers. the full source code is included.
who it’s for
you’d rather start from chapters, scenes, and targets than a blank page. the book tree gives you somewhere to put each piece as it comes.
you’re publishing through print-on-demand and need print-ready PDF and EPUB, not a manuscript you have to reformat by hand.
you’d rather pay for the software you use every day than rent it. Novelisha is one payment, with no subscription and no account — and the files it writes are ordinary PDF, EPUB and DOCX that open without it.
how it compares
made for finishing
Novelisha works offline. there’s no login, no sync, no waiting on a connection. atomic saves and automatic daily snapshots mean a draft isn’t lost if the app closes unexpectedly. a chapter or scene you delete goes to Recently Deleted and Restore puts it back where it was, with its words and its position intact — the last 20 travel inside the book file, so they survive closing the app.
your project lives in a portable .novelisha file you can copy to a backup or carry to another computer. the manuscript stays on your machine, from first scene to export. the privacy page says the same thing in full.
desktop and phone are two apps
there is a Novelisha for computers and a Novelisha for phones. they are two products with two prices, sold in two different shops, and each is paid for once. buying either does not include the other.
the full user guide is inside the download, and anything unclear before you buy goes to hello@cosmicore.net.

common questions
do i need a subscription?
no — Novelisha is a one-time purchase on every platform. buy it once and own it; updates to the version you bought cost nothing extra. you get the full app, built around chapters, scenes, targets, and parts. print-ready PDF export is a desktop feature — the phone app exports EPUB and DOCX.
does it work offline?
yes, it’s an offline writing app. there’s no account and no sync — it saves atomically as you work and keeps automatic daily snapshots. your manuscript stays on your device.
can it export print-ready files?
the desktop app exports print-ready PDF for print-on-demand and self-publishing, plus EPUB, DOCX, and an industry-standard manuscript format. export validation and eBook/print toggles help the files match where you’re publishing. on a phone the export is EPUB and DOCX, and the print-ready PDF is made in the desktop app.
can i write more than one book in it?
yes. every book is its own project — write as many as you want on the one purchase. projects are portable .novelisha files you can move between computers.
what platforms does it run on?
the desktop app runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and one purchase covers all three. a phone version for iPhone and Android is a separate product with its own price in each store, and it is not in either store yet.
does buying the desktop app include the phone app?
no. they are two products in two different shops — the desktop app here, the phone version in the App Store or Google Play when it gets there. each is paid for once, on its own.
why will the Android app cost less than the iPhone one?
the two stores price differently, and Android prices sit lower across the board. it is the same app; the number follows the shop, not a sale.
who am i buying from?
the desktop app is sold by Paddle as merchant of record — Paddle is the legal seller, collects the tax, and handles refunds under its buyer terms. a phone app, once there is one, is sold by the store you bought it in, under that store’s rules. the refund policy spells it out.
can i import a draft i already started?
yes. import a .docx, continue the draft inside Novelisha’s chapter-and-scene structure, then export it when you’re ready to publish.
can i try it first?
there is no trial build. what there is instead: this page lists every feature, the full user guide is inside the download, and refunds are Paddle’s to decide under the buyer terms it sells under. if something here is unclear before you buy, email hello@cosmicore.net.
what happens to my book if Cosmicore stops?
the copy you downloaded keeps running. it needs no server, no account, and no licence check, so there is nothing that can be switched off at this end. and your manuscript is a .novelisha file on your own disk, with DOCX, EPUB and PDF export built in, so the words are never locked inside the app.
what does the licence let me do?
install it on the computers you own, write and sell what you make with it, and keep the version you bought. there is no key and no activation, and we claim nothing in your work. the plain-english version is on the licence page.
also here: LunaLog, the offline cycle calendar, planner and journal — a separate one-time purchase.
