Questions people ask before they buy.
These are the ones that apply to every app. Each app’s own page has the questions particular to it.
The apps
Do the apps use AI?
No. None of the apps has an AI feature. None of them writes, rewrites or analyses your words, suggests what to write, or scores anything. They all work offline and send nothing anywhere, so nothing you write or log can be used to train anyone’s AI. The Novel Guide and the Novelisha Method are written material, read in a panel beside the page. LunaLog’s predictions are arithmetic on the dates you logged. Dictation uses your own device’s speech-to-text and only types what you say.
Do they work offline?
Yes. Every app runs on your own device with no account, no login and no server on the other end. You need the internet once, to download the installer, and not after that.
Where is my data?
On your device, as ordinary files. On a computer, in your Documents folder. On a phone, in the app’s own private storage, kept out of the phone’s cloud backup on purpose. Nothing is collected, synced or uploaded. The privacy page names every file and every permission.
What is dictation, and is it private?
On a computer, the Dictate button tells you where your operating system’s own dictation is (Windows + H, or the Fn key twice on a Mac). The apps have no speech recognition of their own. On a phone, a microphone pill beside the keyboard hands what you say to the phone’s built-in speech recognition and types the words back. Depending on the phone, that recognition runs on the device or on its maker’s servers, under the maker’s privacy policy. The app keeps no audio and sends nothing itself, and it runs only while you have the button on.
Is there a subscription?
No. Every app is a one-time purchase, on every platform. No in-app purchases, no ads, nothing to renew. The version you bought keeps working.
Which platforms?
The desktop apps run on Windows, macOS and Linux, and one purchase covers all three. The phone versions for iPhone and Android are separate products with their own prices in each store: on Google Play, and coming to the App Store.
What about updates?
For a desktop app, a newer version appears on your download page, the page you landed on after paying, as a fresh download. Updates are free. Nothing is emailed and nothing updates itself, so that page is the only place to get it. Bookmark it. A phone app from Google Play or the App Store is updated by the store. The version you have keeps working either way.
Can I try it first?
There is no trial build. Each app’s page lists every feature, the full user guide for each is on the docs page, and refunds are Paddle’s to decide under the buyer terms it sells under.
Is the source code included?
Yes, with the desktop apps. A copy ships inside the download. The licence page says what you may do with it.
Buying
Who am I buying from?
The desktop apps are sold by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle is the legal seller, collects the tax, and handles refunds under its buyer terms. A phone app is sold by the store you bought it in, under that store’s rules.
How does a desktop purchase work?
Paddle takes the payment and emails a receipt. The download link is on the page you land on afterwards. That page is the only place the installer and every later version come from. Nothing is emailed, there is no account, no licence key and nothing to activate. Bookmark the page, and keep the installer file too. If you lose the page, find my download finds it again from the email address and invoice number on your Paddle receipt. Nothing else can. There is no account, and nobody at this end looks orders up by hand.
I lost my download page. What now?
If you lose your download page, find my download finds it again from the email address and invoice number on your Paddle receipt. Nothing else can. There is no account, and nobody at this end looks orders up by hand. The receipt is the email Paddle sent when you paid. The invoice number is on it and on the PDF attached to it. If you kept the installer file, nothing is lost until you want a newer version.
Does the desktop app include the phone app?
No. They are separate products in different shops, each paid for once. Buying one does not include the other.
How do refunds work?
For a desktop app, a refund request goes to Paddle within 14 days of purchase, quoting the order number on your receipt. Paddle decides it under its own refund policy. For a phone app it goes through the store. The refund policy has the detail.
What does the licence let me do?
Install an app on the computers you own, use it for personal and commercial work, keep the version you bought, and sell what you make with it. Cosmicore claims nothing in your work. The plain-English version is on the licence page.
LunaLog
Is LunaLog medical advice?
No. It is a personal wellness and journaling tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a contraceptive. Its predictions are estimates from the dates you logged, and its fertile window is not a test and not contraception. For health decisions, talk to a professional.
Can my cycle data be handed over?
There are no LunaLog servers, so there is nothing at this end to breach, subpoena or hand over. The data exists only on your device. Whoever can open that device, or a backup you made, can read it. The privacy page says how to encrypt it.
What is the bathroom log?
Open a day and, under the mood faces, tap 💩 Went. The day shows it on the calendar, and the Trends charts count it by week and by cycle day. Under it, Also today has 💪 Workout and ⚡ Productive for the days you want to remember that way. They are counts of your own entries, not an assessment.
Novelisha
What is the Novelisha Method?
32 steps in the order they are done, in twelve parts, from the first idea to a finished, revised book, then first readers, sending it out and the next book. Under each step is a line for the book’s genre and, where they change the step, for its format, its place in a series and the publishing market, with a short worksheet answered inside the book and saved with it. You work the steps in the boxes under each step, in the Notes tab and in the sidebar. It sits in the Novel Guide panel beside the page. It is written guidance. It does not write, judge or change your text.
Which genres and formats does the Novel Guide cover?
Eight genres: literary fiction, fantasy, science fiction, romance, mystery and thriller, horror, historical fiction and romantasy. Nine formats: an adult novel, young adult, middle grade and a novella, and for a script a feature film, an ongoing TV series, a limited series, a short film and a stage play. Each book keeps its own genre, format and, for a novel, place in a series, and Book Setup can change them later.
Can I publish and sell what I write in it?
Yes. What you write is yours. The 73 fonts that ship with the app are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 or the Apache License 2.0, which permit embedding in, and selling, the files you export.
Can I use the hearts and ornaments in a book I sell?
Yes. Novelisha and LunaLog have the same special character picker, and every character in it is drawn by a font that ships with the app under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows use in books that are sold and embedding in exported files. The print PDF and the EPUB embed that font, so the character prints the same whatever font the book is set in. A DOCX leaves the drawing to the word processor. The picker leaves out colour emoji. A few of its characters, such as the solid hearts, also exist as emoji, and an e-reader may draw its own colour version of those.
Does it do screenplays?
Yes: a feature film, an ongoing TV series, a limited series, a short film or a stage play. A script project has an editor that formats as you type, and it exports Fountain, .fdx and a Courier PDF with the industry margins. The phone app has the same script editor and the Fountain and .fdx exports. The Courier PDF is made on a computer.
